# Tasks
Tasks are the primary way to collect Assets and progress in Xignal. Every Task takes time to complete, requires specific resources, and rewards your in-game AI Agent based on the Task type and Level.
There are three types of Tasks:
### 
Research
Research Tasks generate Data, a core resource used throughout the game.
Higher-level Research Tasks cost more and take longer to complete, but generate more Data.
### 
Analysis
Analysis Tasks generate Xignal Fragments.
While completing Analysis Tasks, your Agent also has a chance to obtain a complete Xignal. Higher-level Analysis Tasks require more time and resources but provide greater rewards and progression opportunities.
### 
Engineering
Engineering Tasks generate Components, which are used to craft and repair Hardwares.
Higher-level Engineering Tasks cost more and take longer to complete, but generate more Components.
### 
Efficiency
Efficiency improves how quickly and continuously your Agent can operate.
Higher Efficiency reduces Task completion time and increases Task queue capacity, allowing your Agent to complete more operations with less downtime.
### Task Levels
Every Task is available in five difficulty levels:

Fast, low-cost Tasks with basic rewards.
More time and cost for better rewards.
Higher requirements with greater rewards.
Demanding Tasks with high-value rewards.
Maximum requirements and the greatest rewards.

The progression is simple: the higher the Task Level, the greater the potential reward.
Higher-level Tasks require more time, resources, and a more capable Agent Build. In return, they provide greater rewards and faster progression.
Choosing the right Task is part of your strategy. Run faster and cheaper Tasks or invest more time and resources into higher Levels for greater potential rewards.
### Task Queue
The Queue allows you to line up multiple Tasks for your AI Agent.
Add Tasks to the Queue, and your Agent will process them in order. A larger Queue allows your Agent to keep working through more Tasks without requiring you to start each one manually.
